Candidates announced for Brighton Council by-elections
Nominations have been announced for the by-elections currently underway to fill vacancies on the Brighton Council for mayor and one councillor, following the resignation of Mayor Tony Foster on 30 June 2021.
The candidates are—
Councillor – 5 candidates:
BLACKWELL, Arthur – Brighton
DE LA TORRE, Aaron – Brighton
MAV, Steve – Hobart
McMASTER, John – Bridgewater
RAINBIRD, Sheryl – Bridgewater
Mayor – 4 candidates:
GRAY, Leigh – Brighton
MAV, Steve – Hobart
McMASTER, John – Bridgewater
OWEN, Phil – Old Beach
Candidate names are listed above in alphabetical order, but they will be rotated on the ballot papers.
A notice listing candidates for these by-elections will be placed in the Mercury newspaper on Saturday 24 July 2021.
Postal ballot packs for the by-elections should arrive by next Friday 30 July.
The poll closes at 2pm Tuesday 24 August 2021.
