NEBHub (Northern Employment and Business Hub) holds its fourth expo, the George Town Futures Expo, next week.
Over 40 exhibitors from George Town industry and community organisations will showcase career and training pathways for northern Tasmanian jobseekers at the NEBHub event.
NEBHub Regional Jobs Hub is an initiative of Bell Bay Advanced Manufacturing Zone (BBAMZ), established to help jobseekers find work and match Tasmanian businesses with the best candidates, and supported by the Tasmanian Government through the Department of State Growth.
Minister for Skills and Training Felix Ellis and George Town Mayor Greg Keiser will open the expo, which is at the George Town Memorial Hall Complex on 26 March.
The entire community is invited to be part of the George Town Futures Expo: listen to guest speakers present workshops, join Area Connect’s driving tours of the Bell Bay precinct or be entertained by the music and a photo booth.
“Jobseekers can find opportunities in advanced manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, the defence force and other George Town industries. Or speak about upskilling to further your career with representatives from training organisations,” BBAMZ chief executive officer Susie Bower said.
“Find out which career and training pathways are available right now at the George Town Futures Expo or join in the fun activities our local community organisations are running throughout the day.
“The drive-by tours by Area Connect will give community members an insider’s view of the Bell Bay precinct so they have a better understanding of what is manufactured in the region’s flagship industrial precinct. This really is an event for everyone in George Town,” she said.
