Resurfacing Work on Hobart Highways
We will be resurfacing sections of two Hobart highways from Friday, 31 March to Thursday, 6 April 2023.
There will be resurfacing at night on the southbound lane of the Brooker Highway between Granton and Austins Ferry. The speed limit will be reduced and there will be frequent lane closures during the working hours of 6:30 pm to 6:00 am.
We will also be applying a final seal and line marking the Sorell Bypass. A temporary seal was used to allow the new bypass to open in winter last year and we are now replacing that with a permanent surface.
The work sites will include a section of Main Road near the southern end of the bypass and on the bypass itself between Curtain Lane and the Sorell Rivulet.
This work is expected to take about three days, with the work days dependent on the weather.
Lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place during the working hours of 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Please allow extra travel time if you plan to travel through these sites during work times and remember to follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
We will be using machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.
