You are invited to a Tasmanian Way Virtual Forum to co-create a map of actions, initiatives and events that are helping Tasmania transition to a low carbon and sustainable future in 2021 and beyond.
When: Thursday 11 December
Time: 10am to 11:30am
Where: ZOOM (link available on registration)
Register: https://bit.ly/3o0pVHo
This is a facilitated virtual conversation in which you will work in small groups to share:
- good news stories that you have been involved with or observed in 2020;
- actions, initiatives, events and points of opportunity that you are working on that contribute to a low carbon, sustainable and thriving future in Tasmania.
This is not just about the environment or climate change, it includes all initiatives that contribute to improving social inclusion, converting waste to resource, restoration and regeneration, local food and/or using technology, Aboriginal knowledge and innovation to shape our future.
Why? When we put all these bright spots together we start to map connections and paint the bigger picture for change. Who knows what ideas and new connections might spark?
Who? Invitees are people from business, industry, government, research, not for profits and community groups that have been involved in the Tasmanian Way, Thriving Tasmania or who are taking action to transition to a sustainable future. We encourage you to forward this invitation to anyone else you think would add value to this conversation.
How? This will be hosted via an online platform (Zoom) and will involve small group discussions using virtual breakout groups. Your group will appoint a scribe to capture discussions in an online survey form throughout the session.
What we will do is to consolidate the data captured and create a summary of 2020 bright spots as well as a list of actions, initiatives and events that are taking place in 2021 and beyond. This will be shared with participants as well as via the Tasmanian Way website.
The Tasmanian Way is a platform to bring visibility to the action being taken by Tasmanians to transition to a low carbon and sustainable future and facilitate a Tasmanian response to the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals: www.tasmanianway.org.
Thank you to Sustainable Living Tasmania and Tasmanian Leaders to help make this event happen.
