Hobart Iranians will gather this Saturday to condemn mass killings in Iran and warn of regime-linked extremism and antisemitism in Australia.
Inside Iran, over 12,000 unarmed protesters are reported to have been killed in recent days with military-grade weapons. The regime has shut down internet and mobile networks to hide its crimes. Iranians in Tasmania say they are unable to contact their families and fear for their loved ones’ lives.
Organisers warn that the Islamic Republic poses a direct threat to Australia, with its extremist ideology linked to violence, antisemitism and intimidation, including recent arson attacks on synagogues in Melbourne. These incidents underscore that no community is safe and that Tasmania is no exception.
The Hobart gathering aims to expose the scale of the mass killings in Iran and to warn of the wider consequences of state-sponsored extremism. Participants will stand for freedom and democracy in Iran, and for the safety and democratic values of Australian communities.
