If you’re a small-scale farmer this is your final chance to apply for the 2026 Sprout Producer Program (SPP). Applications close this Sunday, 19 October at 23:59.

The SPP is a six-month program offering hands-on farm development, mentorship and deep community connection. For a heavily subsidised fee of just $395 (inc. GST), you’ll gain practical business and resilience skills, including cashflow management and regenerative practices, through six farm visits, workshops and online sessions (March – August 2026).

Time’s running out!

Applications for the 2026 Sprout Producer Program (SPP) close this Sunday, 19 October at 11:59 — and this is your last chance to join a program that’s changing the future of small-scale farming in Tasmania.

The Sprout Producer Program is a six-month, hands-on farm development and connection course designed to help you grow your enterprise, build your confidence and connect deeply with the farming community around you.

But this isn’t your average course. The SPP is about community, growth, and resilience — supporting you to find your footing, clarify your goals and thrive as part of Tasmania’s local food future.

Why join Sprout’s Producer Program?

If you’ve been thinking about how to grow your farm, connect with others who truly understand the ups and downs of small-scale production, or simply find your next step in farming — this program is for you.

At Sprout Tasmania, we exist to support the people behind Tasmania’s local food movement — the small-scale farmers who nurture the land, feed their communities and keep our food systems resilient. The SPP is one of the most rewarding ways we do that. Over six months, you’ll take part in farm visits, workshops and mentoring sessions that help you develop new skills, reflect on your goals and gain confidence in your path forward.

What you’ll gain through the Sprout Producer Program

What makes the program so special isn’t just the content — it’s the people. Each year, producers tell us how much they value being part of a community that “gets it.” You’ll learn alongside others who share your passion for ethical, sustainable farming and you’ll be supported by mentors who want to see you succeed. By the end of the program, many participants describe feeling not only more capable, but more connected — to their peers, to their farms and to the bigger story of farming in Tasmania.

You can expect to gain

Confidence and clarity in your farming direction — learn to plan, reflect and set achievable goals

Connections that last — meet mentors, fellow producers and industry partners who’ll support your journey

Practical learning — visit working farms, see sustainable practices in action and gain tools you can apply immediately

Business and resilience skills — explore everything from cashflow and risk management to soil health and farm planning

Community and belonging — join a cohort of farmers who share your values, challenges and ambitions
