Libraries Tasmania is providing a range of activities to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people during NAIDOC Week, 6 – 13 July 2025. This year’s theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.

There will be activities to mark the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC in both public libraries and the State Library and Archives of Tasmania.

Public Libraries

There are plenty of ways to be involved in NAIDOC Week at local libraries:

The State Library and Archives of Tasmania

Visit the Ground Floor of the State Library and Archives of Tasmania, Hobart at 91 Murray Street to view a display celebrating fifty years of NAIDOC Week, between 6 – 13 July 2025.

The State Library and Archives of Tasmania is showcasing a display of Aboriginal history, politics, and cultural materials, including past NAIDOC Week posters from 1975 to present. The display recognises the legacy and achievements of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, both past and present.

Learn more about NAIDOC Week on the national website www.naidoc.org.au and download the colourful Ancestral Lines poster by Ngarbal Gamilaraay artist Jeremy Morgan Worrall.
