Marathoner extraordinaire Trent Henderson is nearing the half-way mark in his quest to run 110 marathons in 110 days.
He will be running his 47th and 48th marathons in Launceston on Friday 28 March and Saturday 29 March.
“Trent has embarked on an incredible journey to support our ongoing mission,” Speak Up! Stay ChatTY Founder Mitch McPherson said.
“Running one marathon is already an achievement. By the time Trent gets to Launceston, he will have run over 2,000kms to raise awareness of mental health and the work we do at Stay ChatTY.
“We are beyond grateful for his support and are in awe of the message of resilience he is sending to the wider community.”
Henderson first heard about Speak Up! Stay ChatTY in 2014, when Mitch spoke at his high school.
“A few years ago, I found myself reflecting on that session I had participated in with Mitch,” he said.
“I was facing some personal challenges and worked through some tough times relating to my mental health which had led me to a place with thoughts of suicide.
“Remembering Mitch’s message prompted me to reach out to my close circle of people and I found support through talking to them about how I was feeling.
“This, together with my love of fitness, performing stand-up comedy and my passion for running has helped me completely turn my life around. I plan to run 110 marathons in 110 days to raise awareness of positive mental health and suicide prevention, encourage daily challenges, and spread kindness.”
Henderson has been gradually increasing the number of kilometres he’s running each week for the past few months and completed the 2024 Melbourne Marathon and the 2025 Adelaide City Run Marathon in the lead up to the challenge. He will also take part in the Hobart Airport Marathon 2025 as part of his program.
