22 new constables join the ranks of Tasmania Police

Tasmania Police will welcome 22 new constables into the ranks today, with 10 men and 12 women ready to service and protect the community from next week.

“Today we’re pleased to witness the graduation of 22 new constables, with 10 men and 12 women having successfully completed a gruelling training program at the Tasmania Police Academy,” said Acting Commander Nikala Parsons.

“Our newest members will serve and protect the community from next week, with ten stationed in the south, five in the north, and seven in the north-west.”

Constables will be deployed to training stations with two at Bellerive, four at Hobart, four at Glenorchy, five at Launceston, four at Burnie, and three at Devonport.

“On behalf of Tasmania Police, I congratulate and welcome our new members as they embark on what we hope will be a long and rewarding career within our ranks.”

“Policing as a profession is anything but ordinary – which is one of the slogans of new recruitment campaign which aims to recruit people for four further recruit courses this year.”

“If you’re feeling ready to find your purpose in a role where every moment matters, maybe it’s time to consider a career with Tasmania Police – there has never been a better time to join.”

“We’re recruiting a second intake of recruits to train at our northern campus in August this year, so if you’re from the north or north west and have considered policing as a career, now is the time to apply.”
