Rallies continue in both Launceston and Hobart
What’s coming up
* Tuesday October 22, 6.30pm ‘Where Olive Trees Weep’ documentary film. SOHO Arts, Back Studio, 6 Washington Street, South Hobart; Organised by Labor Friends of Palestine. Free admission. Any donations will go to Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA, a registered Australian charity.
* October 31 on-line, Briefing from UN – by Chris Sidoti, who spoke so powerfully at our AGM and Francesca (The Better) Albanese – on ending the unlawful occupation of Palestine. Unfortunately it’s at an inconvenient time for Australia, but may be recorded for later.
* Saturday November 2, 6pm AEDT, Dr Samar Sawabi, novelist, playwright and poet, will present the annual Edward Said lecture . Organised by Australian Friends of Palestine Association, SA. You can book to view online.
* Thursday November 7, ‘Invaders’ Fear of Memories’ A play about the colonisations of Palestine. 7pm Annexe Theatre, Inveresk Launceston ‘Invaders’ Fear of Memories’, Ben Rivers’ moving play that many of us saw in Hobart earlier in the year, has been performed internationally and will be in Melbourne and Canberra later in November – tell your friends! https://www.benjaminrivers.org/events/the-invaders-fear-of-memories
* Sunday November 10, 11-5, Cygnet Town Hall, FALASTIN – people, culture, sumud, a celebration of Palestinian culture, family friendly fundraiser for Palestinian children.
* Saturday November 23, Run for Palestine Hobart
* Early December, Professor Tim McCormack, recently returned from the International Court of Justice, will speak on Gaza.
* December 15, Cygnet, live performance of oud music from Gaza, Majdi & Seraj
