Two people have been charged following an alleged dangerous driving and police evade incident near Avoca yesterday afternoon.
A 32 year old northern Tasmanian man has been charged with a range of offences including:
Evade Police (aggravated circumstances) x 2
Stealing x12
Drive a motor vehicle while exceeding prescribed alcohol limit
Resist a Police Officer
Unlawful possession of property
Motor Vehicle Stealing
Drive whilst not the holder of a driver licence x8
Reckless driving
The man was remanded in custody to appear in an out of hours sitting of the Launceston Magistrates Court this evening.

Stolen vehicle intercepted near Avoca and four people taken into custody
Police are investigating a stealing in St Helens and a stolen motor vehicle which was intercepted by police near Avoca this afternoon.
Earlier today police were called to a report of a stealing at a store in St Helens, with a stolen vehicle alleged to have been involved.
Police attended and with the use of road spikes, intercepted the stolen vehicle west of Avoca.
Four people in the vehicle were taken into police custody.
One man resisted arrest and police deployed OC Spray to take him safely into custody.
The people remain in custody while police are investigating several matters including the theft from the St Helens store, motor vehicle stealing, dangerous driving, and evade police.
Police believe the people in custody can also assist with police enquiries into several other matters.
