Liberals blow up their own integrity
The Premier and his Liberal government have trashed parliamentary standards and shattered any remaining illusion of integrity by refusing to address serious conflict of interest allegations relating to Member for Lyons Mark Shelton.
Jeremy Rockliff failed to explain how money was provided to the Bracknell Hall, where Mark Shelton is a committee member, that has benefited from over $1 million in taxpayer grants in recent years.
The Integrity Commission has in the past called out the Liberals’ dodgy pork barrelling at election time, and it has been described as worse than the sports rorts saga under for Prime Minister Morrison.
Secrecy and cover-up is a growing hallmark of the Liberals government and their dealings with the Tasmanian people.
How on earth can the Tasmanian public have any confidence in members of the Liberal government if they won’t be straight with them?
The people of Tasmania deserve truth and transparency from their elected representatives but under Jeremy Rockliff’s government it’s become an optional extra.

Dark Cloud Hangs Over Rockliff’s Integrity
The cloud over Premier Jeremy Rockliff’s integrity continues to grow darker.
In Question Time today, the Greens asked the Premier if he supported the Treasurer’s statement from Parliament yesterday that Mark Shelton MP had “done nothing wrong” by being involved in arranging funding for his pet project, building a new Bracknell Hall.
Premier Rockliff’s response was, “of course I do”.
We now have both a Premier and Deputy Premier who have specifically and directly endorsed Mr Shelton’s misconduct as acceptable. This is deeply problematic.
These latest actions come on top of Jeremy Rockliff misleading Parliament over the Liberal party’s shonky election grants scheme last year, and failing to correct the record when he was exposed.
Clearly Premier Rockliff is more interested in trying to save face politically than leading a government of integrity.
