Statement – Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government’s Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings, 22 April 2022

Hearings

The Commission will conduct six weeks of hearings in Hobart and Launceston during the period from 2 May to 5 August 2022.

In accordance with the Order establishing the Commission, the focus of the hearings will be on examining and evaluating systemic issues, laws, policies, practices and procedures. The Commission will also be informed by individual cases where appropriate.

Subject to any order of the Commission to the contrary, the hearings will be open to the public and will be recorded and live streamed on the Commission’s website. Members of the public, including the media, are welcome to attend in person or watch the live stream. A full hearings schedule is below.
