The sad thing about the sexual revolution rolled out by Indulgence Capitalism in 1960s was the commodification of sex and women, the marginalization of the politics of intimacy and disciplined rules based virtue, and the deregulation of the social infrastructure and moral agency that might deliver anything else, as economic and ideological indulgence took over, privatized and colonized consciousness itself.

The prospective reconstruction of prostitution into a regular ‘industry’ is a marker of how far that process has gone, to the extent that non market libertarians down at Amnesty International now buy the brothel owner line, that ‘The Industry’ ’empowers’ women as ‘sex workers’. The extent of the commodification and gender status degradation of women as sexual servants to male fantasies is neatly curtained off.

Libertarian ideology becomes a colonizing agent of indulgence capitalism. It is a willing participant in the destruction of a feminist agenda that might lead to social reregulation in favour of female power and the integrity of the politics of intimacy.
