• Integrity Commission acted on false information in its report
• Courtney ignores hard, clear evidence of a cover up to protect Liberal MLC
• Courtney’s hospital handball to Attorney-General Archer, who is up tomorrow
It is deeply concerning that the Liberals are attempting to sweep serious allegations against the Leader of Government Business under the carpet.
“The claim that the concerns have been dismissed by the Integrity Commission is extraordinary. Minister Sarah Courtney clearly wasn’t listening,” Shadow Minister for Primary Industries Shane Broad said.
“It is clear the Integrity Commission acted on false information provided by DPIPWE and CLS when it investigated the serious allegations.
“Clearly there was cover-up to protect a senior Liberal politician seeking to use her political influence to win a Crown Lands dispute with a member of the public.
“Minister Courtney even stood by evidence given by the Secretary of the Department that there had been no contact between Crown Land Services and the Government Member, even when presented with clear evidence that there had been contact.
“Minister Courtney was handed a copy of an email from Leonie Hiscutt to Crown Land Services and refused to not only correct the record but even look at the email.
“Minister Courtney needs to take this seriously and immediately call for an investigation of her department.
“Labor is serious about this issue and will continue to prosecute this extremely serious matter when the Attorney-General and the Integrity Commissioner are sitting in Estimates tomorrow, at the encouragement of Minister Courtney.”
