    Agree wholeheartedly with Comments 1 to 6.

    Also the National Day of the Peoples Republic of China and the International Day of Older Persons. (Wonder how many of us ‘Older Persons’ had any inkling of this? And, given the success rate of ‘UN Days of [Whatever]’, care/d?

    On this day in 1890, the US Congress established Yosemite, one of the world’s earliest national parks.

    And, very topical on today’s first of October, in 1989 Denmark introduces the world’s first legal same-sex civil union as a ‘registered partnership’.

    Amazing photography! They really show the moody and elemental Tasmanian landscape.I love the tarkine coast myself, I go there at least once a year.Wonderful capture of the folder geology of the ragged rocks and horizontal growing tough tea trees!
