Australia is now in the position of accepting ‘boat people’ who leave Cuba to try to reach the US, but refusing to accept, or even care for, those refugees who are being left abandoned on Manus Island and Nauru.
I would like to know how the Cubans qualified under the definition of ‘refugee’. You couldn’t write a tragedy, or a farce, that would be more inhumane than this.
How much worse does this Government have to be for Australians to stand up for what they know is right?
I am appalled.
