In order to support community development in Tasmania, we are going to provide free advertisements on Tasmanian Times.
Yes, that’s right. There is one-time processing fee of $30 to cover our costs of employing a person to do the uploading, then after that your ad can stay on our site permanently, free of charge. If you wish to make changes later on, or replace it with a different ad, an administration of $30 will apply again. We’ll see how inflation goes but we are guaranteeing these low fees for all of 2023. And the free bit will always apply. Cheers!
Who Qualifies?
You can have a free ad for any of the following (as long as it is based in and active in Tasmania):
- bona fide community group
- non-profit association
- cooperative or collective
- sporting body – statewide / peak body or regional league
- non-profit festival
- community event, market, performance, celebration
- trade union
- student association
- artistic or cultural group
- campaign / fundraiser for worthy cause
- grant, scholarship or other funding or award program
- yeah probably a few oddities not covered here, let’s see!
We also require that advertisers are inclusive, progressive, and committed to the overall wellbeing and sustainability of community life in Tasmania. We reserve the right to refuse any advertisement requests. If you aren’t sure if you qualify, hit us up anyway and we’ll let you know.
Your advertisement will rotate with others across the site. On average, it will probably be ‘served’ to readers 10,000 times a year. Your advertisement can be clickable, ie. anyone clicking on it will taken away from this site and to the site of your choice.
Advertisement requirements
You must provide a graphic image in .jpg format in any of the following sizes:
- 120 pixels wide x 600 pixels high (vertical skyscraper)
- 400 pixels wide x 300 pixels high (standard rectangle)
- 720 pixels wide x 120 pixels high (horizontal bar)
We will not resize your image for you, reformat or re-design.
The advertisement design should be of acceptable quality and not use any images to which you do not own copyright. Text on an image is fine, but the less the better (generally). Your design can include contact information if necessary.
You can have a link. It can only be to an independent website and not any social media page.
