Our first Budget delivers a record investment in education, and from next year the students and staff at Lindisfarne North Primary will have a new and improved school.

Recently, the school community decided after months of consultation to relocate to the former Geilston Bay High site to give Lindisfarne North’s more than 290 students access to a better learning environment.

The Liberal Government is providing $2 million to redevelop the existing facilities to provide for a modern, high-quality primary school.

Today, I am pleased to announce that Tasmanian building company Fairbrother Pty Ltd has been awarded the contract to undertake refurbishment works at the former Geilston Bay High School site.

The redevelopment will include upgraded facilities for students, with access to a full sized gymnasium, larger classrooms and an oval.

Fairbrother will begin work in the near future so that the facilities are complete in time for Term 1 next year when Lindisfarne North Primary will take up residence.
