The name Georgina means ’tiller of the soil’ or ‘farmer’ and Georgina references the role of farmer in our chat, and in many ways it suits Georgina Walker who cultivates a relationship between the physical down-to-earth material world and it’s more spiritual dimensions.
In Georgina Walker’s new book ‘Messages from Spirit’ she recounts the story of James Watson the famous scientist once dreaming of walking a spiral staircase. Later Watson would discover the spiral staircase shape of the double helix of DNA.
It may seem somewhat ironic that a man of science and invention was led to his discovery through the power of intuition.
In our modern world many of us have lost the ability to hone into the intuitive messages of our dreams and those in our daily life.
This wasn’t the case for Georgina. Very early on she had connections to the spirit world and when informing her parents of of her sixth sense was not prevented from following it. Both her mother and grandmother had the psychic gift and as Georgina explains it is often the case that psychic ability is heredity.
Whether you believe or not it is a frightening thought that it was illegal to be a practicing psychic in Australia during the 70’s or 80’s, and a psychic could be arrested.
When children are born says Georgina they have the sixth sense and to give an example she cites that often you might see a small baby looking intently at some part of the room for no particular reason in that nothing is seemingly there, Georgina says that there is often a spiritual presence that they are observing. This special sphere of ability is gradually taken from us as we get older and our attachment to the practical world grows.
We still get those dreams and intuitive moments but don’t necessarily consider what they are trying to tell us. Georgina gives us the example of one of her own dreams of Arnold Schwarzenegger, whom she says she wouldn’t be dreaming of because of any romantic infatuation with him. Indeed in the dream he appears in his terminator role. With a little thinking Georgina realises this is a red flag dream and that it is telling her that it is the end of one period of her life and the start of another.
Apart from dreams Georgina also discusses in her book the idea of residual energy. It can be left in a building where the energy of an experience lingers not having been fully expunged. It can also be sensed in objects and in her book Georgina covers the story of a statue with this residual energy that causes sickness to the owner.
Another kind of energy is negative energy may manifest itself when we feel for no forseeable reason we are uncomfortable in certain people’s company. This type of intuition is keener in animals than for people.
Georgina explains that some less technological societies are in touch with their intuitive selves and have a relationship with their spirituality but our embracement of technology does not make us open to our intuitive selves. Also we are living inside for the majority of time rather than outside and thus miss out on the intuitive cues given by the natural world.
Georgina helps us become more aware of our intuition and shows us how to listen to what it is telling us. Even something as simple as hearing about a topic and then reading about it later and so having the message reinforced, which may seem like a coincidence we can brush off can be a hold a significant message for us.
Georgina also works with people who are coping with sadness and loss and helps them find comfort by becoming more aware of a spiritual dimension.
For all this Georgina is also a practical woman and when people say to her they have seen a symbolic feather and ask if it is maybe a sign she says maybe it means something or maybe you just live near pigeons!
Georgina doesn’t suggest psychic super-marketing, the practice of people seeking advise from different psychics until they get the answer they want.
Although she has never been to Tasmania Georgina does have some clients living here Georgina sees it as a beautiful little England and a place with such a pristine natural landscape that gives us a greater chance for spiritual awareness.
