The forest industries continue to create needless, harmful smoke with their burns again this year.

FT commissioned a CSIRO Report confirming already known wood heater smoke in Geeveston was greater than their smoke. Grapes don’t only grow in Geeveston.

Not only is their smoke making our people and animals sick, “Wines made from grapes exposed to smoke exhibit various aroma characters with some smoke tainted wines containing ‘burnt’, ‘smoked meat’, ‘leather’, ‘disinfectant’, ‘charred’, ‘ashtray’ and ‘salami’ aromas.

Smoke tainted wines are usually unpalatable and unfit for purpose therefore resulting in financial losses for the wine industry.”

Smoke complaints have been higher this year according to the EPA.
