We have printed 38,500 copies of our newspaper to be distributed to households in the Tamar Region including Launceston.

TAP has provided hard information on the damaging socio-economic impacts of the proposed mill on the Tamar region as well as on the whole island of Tasmania.

These impacts have been deliberately not assessed in the whole corrupted pulp mill approval process.

It was not in Gunns’ interest and therefore not in the interests of the State Labor government and the Liberal opposition for the potential impacts of the mill to be assessed.

What our newspaper highlights is even more chilling than the potential impacts of the proposed mill.

The Tamar region has paid a huge social and economic price for more than half a decade of this idiot proposal threatening the viability of the region.

In the lower Tamar Valley the property market has collapsed and so have house prices. Because of the threat of the proposed mill there has been a moratorium on investment. The result is that for more than five years the region has not been able to progress as it should. The health impacts of more than five years of accumulated stress is incalculable.

What Labor, the Liberals and Gunns have put the people through is unforgivable.
