So that’s what Airdy and CPR were massaging at the Henry Jones: A pathetic excuse

The 31 people who attend the event at the Henry Jones Art Hotel were treated to “reasonable quality food with accompanying wine”, said Labor Party state secretary John Dowling.

He said the dinner and those who attended would be disclosed to the Electoral Commission in accordance new federal electoral disclosure laws.

Mr Dowling said the meal and drinks would be fully paid for and had not been donated by Federal Hotels, owner of the hotel.

“We have no other dates at this stage but obviously to fund the election campaign as a party we need to raise funds,” Mr Dowling said.

“We plan to have other functions between now and the election.”

Meanwhile, the Tasmanian Liberals have released new television advertisements spruiking the party’s alternative to the State Budget.

The advertising campaign, which began last month, is believed to have cost at least $100,000.
