HANNAH AULBY

As is becoming increasingly obvious, following the latest floods in Queensland and NSW, climate change threatens the economic, social, and environmental security of all Australians and people around the world. On Saturday the 13th of June 2009, Australians everywhere will unite in their call for strong and urgent government action on climate change. This issue presents an unprecedented global challenge for humanity, and community members must stand up to ensure our political leaders take responsible action for our future. Decisions made today will shape the quality of life for decades to come.

Climate Action Hobart invites all Tasmanians to come together and demand a safe climate for us, our children and all life on Earth. The 13th of June is a national day of united Climate Emergency Rallies around the country calling for governments to commit to a safe climate through implementing affective greenhouse gas emission targets, investing in sustainable industries and renewable energies and conserving our natural carbon stores. Action must be taken now to ensure Australia does not get left behind, we must play our part in the international climate effort.

Join with us on Saturday the 13th of June, 2009 at 12 noon at Parliament Lawns to hear speakers from leaders in science and politics and to show our political leaders that the Australian community cares, and to urge them to agree on a timely commitment to a positive, safe climate future for all Australians.
