MORE than 11,000 people in northern Tasmania will form a voters’ bloc against candidates who support the Gunns pulp mill at the upcoming local and federal elections. The movement, organised by Tasmanians Against the Pulp Mill, already has 11,000 signatories and is hoping to have 15,000 by the time the federal election is called. Co-ordinator Buck Emberg said that would create chaos at the ballot box. Those to be targeted include Bass Liberal MHR Michael Ferguson, Labor candidate Jodie Campbell and Launceston Mayor Ivan Dean. It comes as opponents promise “mass uproar” and civil unrest.
