TASMANIAN federal Liberal candidate Ben Quin last night risked disendorsement by claiming forests may be worth more as carbon offsets than as a supply source for Gunns’ proposed pulp mill. Mr Quin, censured by party chiefs at the weekend for opposing the mill, told The Australian the value of Tasmania’s forest resource for carbon offsets should be a key part of the mill assessment.
