TURNOFF THE TELLY: Battery Point groups are invited to a series of “Hobart 2025 Future Vision” community workshops to “engage in conversation that shapes the future of Hobart in general and the Battery Point area in particular”.
As Hobart Council has a tendency to selectively consult, with groups only, I thought non-invited individual residents may like to request that they be allowed to attend as well. RSVP closes on Friday, March 3rd, telephone 6238 2712 at Council.
The “20 Year Future Vision” 3-hour workshop for Battery Point will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 6pm for 6.30pm, at an address on Marieville Esplanade.
I’m concerned that a media release may follow this workshop stating that the people of Battery Point don’t want a walkway along the foreshore, so I would like to hear a wide range of opinions canvassed on this topic at the workshop.
Also, are public workshops to be held in ALL suburbs, or only in those few suburbs selected by aldermen?

WILLIE SIMPSON: Calling all HOPSters,
Next meeting of HOPS (Hobart Organoleptic PractitionerS) will be held 6-8pm, Thursday 23 March, upstairs at the New Sydney pub (you all know the secret meeting place).
First the good news: this will be during the annual hop harvest and also while an international brewing convention is being held in Hobart. Expect some special Hoppy brews and the odd heavyweight brewing identity (more will be revealed closer to the date) We will also be inducting not one but TWO HOPS WALL OF FAMERS on the night.
Less than good news: we have raised the cost to $25 in an effort to maintain the excellent value of the event (go figure!)
Mark it in your diaries!!

Whatever the question might be, beer is the answer.
