Touch a meteorite, aka fallen space rock, and discover the wonders of our night sky using a high-powered telscope.
‘West Coast Space Show’ is hitting the road with a team of scientists, space artefacts and a Planetarium show in tow.
The all-ages tour is the brainchild of science communicators, Mars and Paris Buttfield-Addison, who are working hard to establish a permanent space-focused science outreach venue on the west coast of Tasmania.
Come along for a family-friendly hour of fun facts and stories about our unique night sky and all the things it affects. We’re exploring new spacecraft missions, ancient space history, serious science… All focused on the unique strengths of our beautiful lutruwita/Tasmania.
Afterwards, we’ll switch to a series of interactive activities to get attendees of all ages involved in space fun they can do from home. Look through a high-powered telescope (weather permitting), with a live tour of the night sky!
Free, family friendly, and interactive. Attendees of all ages are welcome to bring their trickiest questions or relevant artefacts to be a part of the fun.
