Producer and Performer, Grace Cherry, said she was thrilled with how audiences received the event in October when saucy show returned after a pandemic pause.
“We were all really worried about COVID and how it would impact our industry. Burlesque is a really intimate experience and it definitely feeds off the audience – it can be very interactive”
“Obviously people are being really mindful of the government guidelines, and we just didn’t know if there would be a point where we could safely open up.
“Some of the interactive elements in a show are not possible when you are trying to keep some physical distancing. “, she said.
But fans proved the performer wrong, and turned up for a sell out show in October.
“People seemed so excited to be back at a live event, and were really supportive. Even thought we had to make changes in the capacity of seating and the way that we perform, no one seemed to mind. Everyone was so understanding and really brought the house down with their cheers”
“Knowing that we have lots of people in our community wanting to get out and support local talent has been critical”
“We have our pre Christmas show on sale now, and it’s going to be a great chance for everyone to come together for one last time in 2020.
“I know that I, and lots of the performers, just cherish these performance opportunities – we didn’t know when they would come back again.”, she said.
