Media Release – Tasmanian Wine Festival, 4 February 2026
World Class Tasmanian Wines at Tas Wine Fest Draw International Visitors
Like today’s weather, tickets for the Tasmanian Wine Festival are hot – and demand is being driven well beyond Tasmania’s shores. International and interstate visitors are on the rise, with travellers increasingly choosing to experience Tasmania’s renowned wine scene first-hand.
The Tasmanian Wine Festival plays a vital role in shining a spotlight on small vineyards and lesser known wineries that often do not have an online presence. For many producers, the festival provides rare and valuable exposure. For visitors, it offers an opportunity to discover wines they simply would not find elsewhere.
Festival organiser Luke Schlenner says:
“It is incredibly uplifting to see more international visitors discovering the depth and quality of the wines we produce here in Tasmania. We love giving people the chance to meet the makers and get to know small wineries they may have never heard of.”
As one of Tasmania’s high value state exports, wine is a key driver of the local economy. The Tasmanian Wine Festival celebrates world-class produce while showcasing Tasmania as a premium destination, drawing visitors to the state and reinforcing its reputation on the global stage. The Tasmanian Wine Festival not only supports the wine industry but also has an impact on the broader economy, more specifically the Tourism and Event sector.
Jane Howlett, Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, says:
“Every year we see the more visitors from overseas who are eager to explore Tasmania’s vineyards. It is rewarding to see our producers gain international recognition and share their stories with a global audience.”
As the festival approaches, wine lovers from near and far are invited to explore world class Tasmanian wine and food in the beautiful surrounds of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February 2026. The event will be held across three sessions to ensure guests can enjoy the boutique setting in comfort.
Limited general public tickets are still available from taswinefest.com.au.
The Tasmanian Wine Festival is proudly supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities in Tasmania.
One dollar from every ticket sold is donated, to support its work in Tasmania.
The Tasmanian Wine Festival is supported by the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania, and by the City of Hobart.
