Expected dates for 2025 Legislative Council elections announced
In 2025, periodic elections will be conducted for the Legislative Council divisions of Montgomery, Nelson and Pembroke.
Expected election timetable
Monday 31 March, 6 pm: Issue of the writs and close of rolls
Tuesday 1 April, 9 am: Candidate nominations open
Thursday 10 April, 12 noon: Candidate nominations close
Friday 11 April, 12 noon: Announcement of nominations
Monday 14 April, 8:30 am: Pre-poll voting commences
Thursday 24 April, 4 pm: Postal vote applications close
Saturday 3 May, 8 am to 6 pm: Polling day

Result for Flinders Council recount
A recount was completed today to fill a vacancy on the Flinders Council created by the resignation of Councillor Peter Rhodes.
As only Chris Rhodes consented to contest the recount, he has been elected unopposed and will serve until the 2026 ordinary elections.
