A NIGHT OF FESTIVE CHEER TO BENEFIT TASSIE KIDS

Presented by 7HOFM and John X Presents, Variety’s Carols by Candlelight will this year be held at the new venue of Tolosa Park on Saturday 21 December.

Variety Tasmania CEO Mohammad Aldergham said it would be a magical night celebrating the best of Christmas made possible by generous sponsors.

“The venue change means we can increase the capacity of this hugely popular event, which in the past has sold out within days,” Mr Aldergham said.

“With the tremendous event support of the Glenorchy City Council, we will make this the biggest and best carols we’ve ever hosted. By having more people able to take part we also increase our fundraising capacity, meaning we can help more Tassie kids, with all money raised staying in Tasmania.”

John Xintavelonis said John X Presents is proud to be delivering a large-scale carols event for the people of Hobart once again.

“We’re bringing a Carols by Candlelight to Tolosa Park featuring a 17-piece band together with artists exclusive to this event who you won’t see at any other carols concert this year,” said John X.

“A celebration made that much more special, with the knowledge 100% of funds raised will be donated to Variety to support Tassie kids at risk of falling through the gaps” he said.

Matt Ives and his Big Band, along with a line-up of Tassie guest stars from radio, stage, and TV will take the stage with all proceeds from the event to support local kids at risk of falling through the gaps.

“7HOFM are again thrilled to be involved with Carols by Candlelight, helping Variety Children’s Charities carry out their extraordinary work while bringing some joy and happiness to the good people of Hobart. Last year’s event was fabulous, and this year promises to be even better!” said Greg Scealy, General Manager 7HOFM.

Hobartians are invited to bring their picnic rug and nibbles, sit back and watch Tolosa Park come to life with Christmas spirit – including a special visit from Santa himself.

Glenorchy Mayor Sue Hickey said she was excited to have the popular event at Tolosa Park.

“This is an amazing opportunity for Glenorchy residents and the broader community to celebrate the season with a fantastic line up of performers while raising funds for Tasmanians who need some extra support,” she said.

“Glenorchy City Council is proud to be able to support the Variety Carols by Candlelight through Council’s Christmas Carols Grants program, and we are looking forward to a great evening.”
