Frank Formby is an independent candidate for Clark, supported by the Local Network. He is standing to promote common-sense policies about issues that affect voters in Clark.
Frank has wide experience in the health sector throughout Australia and New Zealand as a palliative care specialist and was a senior lecturer at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, UNSW.
If elected he will:
- Reduce his salary to the median Tasmanian wage
- Use the money saved for additional staff to serve the voters of Clark
- Employ a specialist in issues affecting youth.
Improving the health system
- Promoting the ‘right care, right place, right time’ approach to care used successfully in New Zealand
- Expanding Urgent Care Centres
- Improving the co-ordination of care in the community, including aged care facilities, to eliminate ramping and bed block
Reducing cost of living pressures
- Improve availability of low-cost housing
- Mandate energy efficiency and liveability standards for rental properties
- Encourage supermarket competition
Transparency and accountability in government
- Full immediate disclosure of political donations
- All politicians to record and publish meetings with lobbyists and civil society groups
- Increase funding and investigatory powers of the Ombudsman Tasmania
