Multicultural Employment Project
MCOT is thrilled to announce the launch of our new Multicultural Employment Project 2024. Thanks to a successful grant from the Tasmanian Community Fund, MCOT will collaborate with our partners to develop and implement an employer-centered project aimed at breaking down workplace barriers.
This exciting initiative will build on the work already underway at MCOT, including our Diverse Leader Program, now in its second year, and our successful Multicultural Employer Conference. However, in a system that primarily places the onus on the employee, this project will directly support employers in overcoming their barriers and better engaging the rich talent we have in Tasmania. Its goal is to improve cultural capabilities within the business sector.
In the coming months, we will be seeking expressions of interest from the business sector to participate in this exciting project. Five organisations will work with us to design and test the program over the next 12 months, after which we aim to scale it more broadly.
We also have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced project lead to design and implement this project over the next three years. Applications for the new role of Community Development Lead – Strategic Projects are closing soon. If you’re interested in applying, don’t miss out: https://www.ethicaljobs.com.
MCOT is committed to supporting economic opportunities for multicultural Tasmanians. Employment ranked as one of the top three priorities in our recent consultation project, and we aim to respond to this feedback and contribute to improving employment outcomes.
