This photograph captures snow descending upon Sandy Bay Road in the winter of 1972.

It was taken by astronomy speaker and writer, Martin George, from the footpath near the entrance to the supermarket, which was a ‘Foodland’ business at the time.

The prominent signage of Kippax the Chemist, located at the corner of Magnet Court, is visible in the picture. To the right, further down the road, the Green Glen Supermarket can be seen. The sign is barely visible due to the snow.
