Tasmania’s Community Landcare Conference is approaching fast

The Biennial Tasmanian Community Landcare Conference is set for this spring.

Early Bird Tickets are on sale today – June 23rd until July 14th or unless sold out.

Tasmania’s Community Landcare Conference is set to take place this October 13th-15th at Tasmania’s leading sustainable events venue Spring Bay Mill in Triabunna.

This unmissable weekend will bring together the grassroots community of Landcarers from across Tasmania into a highly anticipated and important milestone gathering that will be guided by the theme “Building Momentum: Turning Knowledge Into Action”.

“The conference will highlight case studies from all over Australia, and bring together community landcarers to share their knowledge, inspire positive action, and celebrate the important work being done in our communities,” says Peter Stronach, CEO of Landcare Tasmania.

The conference program – to be announced soon – will tie in with Landcare Tasmania’s 2023 five Strategic Intents: Healthy Landscapes, Empowered Communities, Supportive Network, Collective Voice, and Strong Foundations. It brings together a network of people with a collective vision- that all Tasmanian communities are empowered and enabled to care for the land and water of lutruwita/Tasmania.

A unique offering as part of the conference weekend is the carefully curated field trips that will explore current Landcare projects along the beautiful east coast of Tasmania.

“The conference weekend offers a wide range of speakers, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, field trip adventures, networking opportunities, and our Tasmanian Community Landcare Awards.”

“An integral part of the conference program is the Tasmanian Community Landcare Awards where nominated amazing landcarers are celebrated and recognised for their efforts and contributions towards healthy landscapes in Tasmania,” says Peter.

The conference is also closely linked to the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030, which has triggered an unprecedented global movement of community landcarers taking action on climate change.

“This conference is key to building on the current global momentum of people caring for land, water, and community. It will be showcasing some of the leading sustainable land and water management practices happening around our state,” says Peter.
