Being a Tassie boy for 71years, I feel that to build it would be the best thing Tasmania would have done done in the last 50 years.

I love to see it for our grandchildren and everyone else’s families. The long term benefits outweighs the short term pain.

My wife and I moved down from Queensland recently and, although the Queensland medical system has been inadequate, we’ve noticed that the Tasmanian health system is seriously understaffed and unable to cope with Tasmania’s small population.

It’s difficult here just to find a doctor able to take new patients, even though we have private health cover.

Please Premier, pump some money into infrastructure which helps the whole state, not just the 150,000 who follow AFL.

Money is pumped into health infrastructure via health infrastructure budgets. If the stadium is squashed then don’t expect those funds being available for health, education or housing. These funds will be lost to Tasmania and no doubt will be reallocated to another state.

What we need is more doctors and nurses, etc. Unless salaries competitive with the mainland are offered then it is difficult to keep the staff. We need to train more, particularly as there is a lack of medical staff worldwide.

Logic failure here. The money could be redirected to upgrade Bellerive Oval and would not be ‘lost’.

We are all aware that money is drastically needed for housing and health. If Mr Rockliff is so determined to leave a legacy to his name for posterity then let him put the money towards a better health system, and housing for the homeless. Let him do something humanitarian while thinking of Tasmanians first.

Mr Rockliff was elected to represent us to provide care for our living circumstances, but the cost of his obsession is spiralling with talk now of the need for trains to transport the footy supporters .. and the list goes on. This is wrong.

If you want the stadium for your grandchildren – then let the grandchildren build it.

I live in Queensland and I’m a Hawthorn fan. I feel that the new stadium will bring jobs, prosperity, tourism, and a sense of state pride which in the long run will benefit all Tasmanians with ongoing employment benefits.

How many millions for this? No bus, no rail .. and parking – will they charge for that just so they can play football while Tasmania has two stadiums already? What a waste of money. We need doctors, teachers, nurses and low-cost housing, so how about the AFL and federal government pay for those first?

Never in the history of Tasmania has a Premier given so little to so many, and given so much to so few …

Pump more money into Bellerive? Really?

It’s land locked unable to grow due to housing bordering the oval. You obviously didn’t follow what was going on as updates were published explaining why Bellerive and the TCA weren’t viable.

The ignorance of people against is as if this was all planned to happen when the prosperity bubble started to burst. It’s bad timing – not planned ignorance of hospitals or healthcare.

If Bellerive is suitable for 3 AFL games a year, it can handle 7. There is plenty of room to expand on the eastern side with more general seating, corporate boxes and media facilities.

Yes, I ‘followed what was going on’ and the bottom line is that the AFL wants to build a big wank right next to the highway in the middle of town so every new arrival in Hobart will see the city cowering before the AFL gods.

      Heaven help us.

The stadium could/would be used for international and Australian musicians to perform, and for international soccer and cricket. Those with biases need to pull their heads out of the sand. The stadium will be used so all Tasmanian can see those world class artists who don’t come now because we don’t have world class facilities.

ALL Tasmanians need a first class facility, and now is the time. The government is pumping in excess of $11 billion dollars over 4 years into Health, and therefore we all deserve this facility. Dividing the relatively small cost into the $11 billion that Health gets reveals it’s just a drop in the ocean.

Our children deserve the best, and as it won’t be this cheap in 5 years just think of that amount we will save. It will pay for itself in 3 to 5 years with all the state-wide benefits we get. I’m happy to support it.

It can’t be used for international cricket as ICC rules prevent games being played in any stadium with a a roof.

Not everybody wants a stadium in Hobart, so at the very least let’s make this fair for everybody who wants a stadium in Hobart who expect to pay increased rates for its upkeep, and for those who do not agree and don’t want the stadium, it should be noted that there should not be any rates’ increase to those who do not want the stadium.

Where will Tassie find the 100 million dollars a year to run an AFL team? The good clubs are spending that much yearly to make finals, hopefully.

We don’t have a hope of being competitive. We will be the laughing stock of the AFL …
