Rolls closed for the 2023 Tasmanian Legislative Council elections
Voting on Saturday 6 May 2023 will be compulsory for just over 81,000 Tasmanian electors enrolled in the Legislative Council divisions of Launceston, Murchison and Rumney.
The number of electors on each election roll is —
Launceston – 25,361
Murchison – 28,114
Rumney – 27,606
The candidate nomination period is now open and will close at noon on Thursday 13 April, with candidates publicly announced at noon on Friday 14 April.
An information pack is coming your way
All electors listed on the Launceston, Murchison and Rumney election rolls will be mailed an information pack in the coming weeks.
Starting 17 April – electors will receive an election information pack, including a brochure listing candidates and polling place details and an elector card which will assist in quickly finding the elector’s name on the roll in the polling place.
Remember voting is compulsory.
