A swarm of hornets, a murky morass, a depthless sink hole, a vortex of porkies – all are a reasonable description of our Attorney General Elise Archer.

What do we actually know?

She jointly stood in a rapture with #Hillsong Fergie as Deputy Premier when he contested the leadership after the shock resignation of Will Hodgman.

She supported same rapturer when he was Minister for State Growth/TasWater and lied about the Heritage status of the Waratah Reservoir resulting in the deaths of platypus, rakali, and burrowing crayfish.

We know that as Minister for Corrections she muddled through the Westbury Prison mess for years and consistently refused any direct meetings with community members who had concerns about the proposed site.

But what don’t we know?

  • Her maiden name is Nylander.

  • She used to work for law firm Symmons Wolfhagen and mysteriously left. Why?

  • She has a net worth of $5.00 million (estimated) which she earned from her occupation as politician. (per Wikipedia)

  • She is married to Dale Archer, former President of the Tasmanian Liberal Party and partner in the Finlease Group.

  • Dale Archer told party chiefs that now-convicted fraudster Damien Mantach had been forced to resign from the Tasmanian party top job over credit card abuse to the tune of $48,000 – but the Liberals still gave him a plum job in the Victorian party. Archer told News Corp he had advised federal party director Brian Loughnane of the ‘full extent’ of the circumstances surrounding Mr Mantach’s exit from the job as Tasmanian state director. Mantach’s involvement in the police tapes scandal eventually brought down Premier Ted Baillieu. Mantach is currently in prison.

  • Her sister is Keryn Nylander, Government lobbyist, Chairwoman of the Jack Jumpers NBL team and a director of Aurora Energy.

  • Keryn is married to Carlton Dixon who owns Dr Syntax Hotel and now NorthWest Bay golf clubhouse. Also with Butler McIntyre Butler Lawyers. The Dixon Group owns the largest number of pokies joints in the state, most of the smaller ones.

  • There were some classics – see sample below in the submission Keryn Nylander penned to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) for the Dixons. Given the potential conflicts of interest by marriage and as the AG’s sister, was there full disclosure?

“Because areas like Glenorchy, Devonport and Burnie spend more per capita, such data must prove that people in those areas enjoy playing EGMs more than people in other areas of the state so that is where the machines should be located. Thanks Keryn Nylander on behalf of the Dixon Hotel Group.”

How deep does the corruption and convolution of truth go in this #TASliberal façade of open politics?
