Candidates announced

Candidates are announced for the 2022 local government elections with 505 individual candidates (319 men and 183 women and 3 other) standing for councillor.

97 councillor candidates are also standing for mayor and a further 136 councillor candidates are also standing for deputy mayor.

Candidate names are listed in alphabetical order for each ballot, but they will be rotated on ballot papers. Draws will determine the order of names on the first rotation of ballot papers.

A notice listing all candidates will be placed in Tasmania’s three daily newspapers on Saturday 24 September.

Postal ballot packs will be delivered to electors in the week commencing 3 October.

The poll closes at 2pm Tuesday 25 October.
