Members of Drill’s Senior Company, aged from 13 to 25, have created the work collaboratively with the key creatives: Artistic Director Isabella Stone, who is a nationally recognised choreographer, Green Room Award winning artist Davina Wright, artist Billie Rankin and experimental sound artist Richie Cyngler.
“dissolving labels has and is still, shaping to be a work rich in honesty, storytelling, colour, juxtaposing imagery, and great rollercoasters of tone and energy in the bodies of the young performers,” Stone said.
“Collaborating with lead artists from different practices, informed by the lived experiences of the cast, has resulted in a very diverse performance and I think it will be a new kind of performance offering from the company. The work has great moments of humor and really exposes and expresses how creative the young people are, not only in their creation of dance but through singing, text and theatrics.”
