Anglicare Tasmania is launching a research project called Trips Not Made. The aim is to help make public transport fairer and better for communities in the north-west and south-east (outer Hobart).

Dr Lisa Stafford from Anglicare Tasmania and UTAS is leading the project with the assistance of young people as co-researchers.

“We are starting with community chats to gather local experiences and views,” she said. “The chats let people share stories about using public transport, what stops us using it, why it matters, and ideas to make public transport better.”

“We particularly encourage people 12-30 years with and without disabilities, people with mental health and chronic illness, and autistic people to come along.”

If a community chat is not for you, you can have a one-on-one chat with Dr Stafford, or complete an activity about improving public transport in your area – like a short video, a photo collection, or travel diary.

“Please consider getting involved – your experience and ideas matter and provides information to advocate for change,” Lisa said.
