SpringFling in Burnie
To celebrate the arrival of spring, we are excited to announce that Business Northwest have partnered with the Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens to flower bomb the central CBD arcades.
#burniespringfling is a celebration of colour and invites everyone into the heart of Burnie to enjoy some colour and vibrancy in these arcades over the week starting 6 September until Sunday 12th September.
“It has been an ambition of Business Northwest to help create places in the CBD that are vibrant, welcoming, and enjoyable for people to spend time in.”
“Environments shape the way people feel, so being able to create environments in the CBD that make people feel happier to spend time in those environments, mean they stay longer, have a greater opportunity for community connection and perhaps buy coffee, lunch or something from the retailers.”
“This kind of community activation works at so many levels, for the volunteers at the Rhododendron gardens, they feel part of Burnie by being able to demonstrate their passion for gardening into a piece that will feature in the heart of Burnie. For the retailers, there are more people roaming around town to see the flowers and enjoy them. For the community, the spaces are more uplifting and enjoyable. For Business Northwest, we help our business community by creating spaces where people want to spend time and hopefully spend a bit of money. “
We will be having entertainment in the City and Plaza arcades on Saturday from around 10am until 3pm, with roving street performers and buskers. Pick up a #burniespringfling postcard and participating shops will give you access to their special #burniespringfling deals. We also have a social media competition to share your #burniespringfling pictures on either Facebook or Instagram and win a 6 pack of donuts from Bedoughs donuts.
We encourage you, if you have some spare time to come down and support the local retailers, enjoy some music and enjoy the burst of spring in the arcades.
