It’s time to talk about well-being and resilience.

The Tasmanian tourism community is coming together through April and May for important conversations about mental health, well-being and resilience.

As a tourism industry we continue to confront some of the most challenging, disruptive and uncertain market conditions any of us could ever imagine.

We owe it to ourselves, our families, our staff and colleagues, to prioritise through 2021 our mental and physical well-being, and that of the people around us.

You’re invited to join Tasmanian-born psychologist, Dr Melanie Irons, Stay ChatTY Foundation’s Mitch McPherson, and our own award-winning restaurateur, tourism operator and mental health advocate, Bianca Welsh, for a conversation we need to have as an industry about mental health and wellbeing.

At these workshops you can expect a lot of upbeat energy and positivity, a few emotional moments, and, importantly, some great take-away messages and strategies on what you can do in your own business and tourism community to make it a more positive environment for yourself and your team.

Mel, Mitch and Bianca each have stories to share, lived experiences, and practical advice and tips to leave with you. They are exceptional young Tasmanian’s, who are passionate about mental well-being. They will challenge, inspire, energise, and up-skill you.

We will also have a team member from Lifeline Tasmania on-hand at each session for anyone who wants to have a more private discussion about how they, or anyone close to them, might be tracking.

The workshops are for owner-operators, employers, management and staff within the Tasmanian tourism industry – we all have a responsibility when it comes to looking after our mental well-being and resilience.

These Well-being and Resilience Workshops have been initiated by TICT through a grant from the Tasmanian Government, and with the support of Lifeline, and our Regional Tourism Organisations.
