Saw Flying Saucer At George Tn.
MR. P. FREEMAN, Franklin St., George Town, claims to have seen a flying saucer over George Town Bay on Sunday morning.
Mr. Freeman was formerly a navigator in the Royal Air Force.
He said yesterday: “I have no doubt that what I saw was not an aircraft as we know it.
“This object flew over at about 8000ft. and was travelling at terrific speed. To me it appeared about the size of a tennis ball and was silver in colour.
“It made no noise, and my son, Stephen, aged seven, who also saw the thing, described it as ‘a – dish spinning’,” said Mr. Freeman.

“Saucer” seen at George Town
LAUNCESTON – The “flying saucer” reported over Beauty Point on Friday was also clearly seen at George Town, according to Mrs. T. Thomas, of Paterson Cres.
Mrs. Thomas said yesterday the object appeared the exact shape of the “flying saucer” sketched recently by Mr. K. L. Littlejohn, of Perth.
Mrs. Thomas’ attention was directed to the object by a loud rumbling noise, and she saw it clearly as it dived away.
