• Cricket Tasmania statement raises more questions for Minister
• Premier Hodgman has no choice but to act and establish independent investigation
Cricket Tasmania CEO Nick Cummins breaking his silence has raised more questions about the shadowy role of Health Minister Michael Ferguson in the sacking of a cricket employee, Shadow Health Minister Sarah Lovell said.
It has been alleged that a senior member of the Liberal Government revealed confidential health information about a Cricket Tasmania staffer to her employer.
“Mr Cummins did not deny that Michael Ferguson revealed personal health information about Ms Williamson that was not in the public domain at that time,” Ms Lovell said.
“Yesterday Will Hodgman claimed that the government had a good working relationship with Ms Williamson. Now we are told Michael Ferguson had forgiven Ms Williamson for her tweets.
“If that is true then why was she sacked?
“It further highlights the need for a full, independent investigation into the role of Liberal Government Ministers including Premier Hodgman and Michael Ferguson and Liberal Ministerial staff in the sacking of Ms Williamson.”
