• Warnings are in place around the state as potentially damaging winds and heavy rain continue today due to a vigorous cold front crossing this afternoon.
• A Moderate Flood warning is current for the North Esk River, and Minor Flood Warnings are current for the Meander and Macquarie Rivers as a result of overnight rainfall and catchments that are already wet.
• Most areas received 25mm until 9am today with the highest totals recorded at:
o Mount Read – 49.4 mm
o Strahan – 26 mm
o Quamby Bluff – 26 mm.
• Heavy rain will continue today and Thursday with two-day totals of 80-100 mm expected in the north west, Highlands and north east; possibly in excess of 100 mm in elevated areas.
• A Flood Watch remains current for north west, north and north east, Derwent and Huon catchments. Flood watch and warning products will be reviewed and updated if required at www.bom.gov.au/tas/warnings
• A Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds has been updated to include all of Tasmania with winds expected to average 60 to 70 km/h from this evening until tomorrow morning, although peak gusts of around 100 km/h are possible.

• Overnight Tasmania experienced strong and gusty winds due to a cold front that crossed in the afternoon with some of the highest recorded speeds at:
o kunanyi/Mt Wellington – 144 km/h
o Hobart – 98 km/h
o Launceston Airport – 93 km/h.
• Winds will ease a little early on Thursday; however, blustery conditions will continue for most of the week.
• Isolated thunderstorms are possible today and Thursday in the north and west.
• Snow will fall above 600 metres late this evening.
