• Conflict of interest must be properly investigated
• Minister made a $200,000 decision that directly benefited his business
• Premier has failed to address the issue

Labor has referred Deputy Premier and Water Minister Jeremy Rockliff to the Integrity Commission over his Tasmanian Irrigation conflict of interest.

Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon said the Minister and Premier have failed to address the conflict.

“Referring this matter to the Integrity Commission is now the right course of action,” Mr Bacon said.

“Minister Rockliff made a $200,000 decision live on radio that directly benefited his own company.

“It’s a clear conflict of interest issue must be properly investigated.

“The Liberals have not clarified how much Mr Rockliff’s company directly gained from his decision.

“The Hodgman Government’s track record of handling conflicts of interest is appalling.”
