Telstra Job Cuts
Telstra announced 1,400 job cuts today via media leak to a select media outlet.M?.b<
No information has been provided to employees or their representatives at this stage.
The CEPU in Tasmania and Nationally have called for meetings to discuss details with Telstra tomorrow which have been confirmed for 3pm Thursday 15thy June.
Tasmania cannot afford a single job cut in Telstra’s front line workforce. Customer service levels, response times and staffing levels in Tasmania are already at breaking point, any further job cuts would render Telstra as an obsolete service provider to Tasmanian consumers.
Depending on the duration and content of tomorrows discussions with Telstra, the CEPU will update media outlets on our availability for comment following the 3pm meetings with Telstra representatives.
