Over at the Australian, Peta Credlin ($) laments that Turnbull and Morrison have forgotten the values of the Howard-Costello years and entered “an unwinnable race to the bottom” by handing down a Labor-style big-spending budget, while Alan Kohler ($) warns that all the political reinvention will be for nothing if the government continues to resist the emissions intensity scheme that will be dropped in its lap by chief scientist Alan Finkel next month.
